All Eyes On The Judiciary

Following the disappointing outcome of the 2023 Nigerian Presidential Election for many hopeful voters who had strongly supported Peter Obi, he vowed to reclaim his stolen mandate. A petition was filed at the Court of Appeals in Abuja, Nigeria on March 20th, 2023. After a series of preliminary motions and applications, the main hearing commenced on May 30th, 2023, and is currently ongoing.

Beginning on May 20th, 2023, Oluchi Media took on the task of covering the proceedings of the 2023 Nigerian Presidential Election Petition Tribunal at the Appeals Court in Abuja. The primary objective was to keep interested individuals worldwide, referred to as “Obidients,” updated on the case involving Peter Gregory Obi (the Labour Party presidential candidate), Bola Ahmed Tinubu (the All Progressive Congress Presidential candidate), INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission), and APC (All Progressive Congress). Due to the court’s decision not to televise the trial, alternative measures were taken. Despite challenges such as time zone differences, limited resources, and manpower, Oluchi Media recruited dedicated Nigerians to attend the hearings in their entirety and provide minute-by-minute updates on Twitter.

The trial is expected to conclude by the last week of June, with the hope that justice will be served for Peter Obi, the candidate who truly won the 2023 Presidential Election by a significant margin. To stay informed about this pivotal trial, it is encouraged to follow @General_Oluchi and @OluchiMedia on Twitter. This trial holds substantial global importance, and it is an event not to be missed. In the meantime, let’s keep all eyes on the judiciary.
